Blurb:

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

And here I thought Hopeless was the most heartbreaking book I’ve ever read. But then, I should have known. It was Colleen, anyway.
I don’t know how she do it, but for me, Colleen Hoover is one of
the most genuine and truly remarkable writer I have ever known. She’s full of life and love lessons! 🙂

It was like, as if I was there, witnessing Ridge and Sydney’s wonderful
story unfolds in front of me that I was able to feel every bit of emotions that all the characters convey.
And every tears that I had shed while reading this book is definitely all worth it
because it only proves how deeply it affects me. In fact, I think this book just ruined me for every other book I’ll ever read. But I’m glad. :’)

Here’s one of the most anticipating book of 2014! Check out the blurb!

I traded my death for love. I wasn’t given a choice. His decision has caught up with us, so now I am a living, breathing catalyst to war between Heaven and Hell.

The violations he committed saved my life. Since the collision, he’s appeared everywhere. In my hospital room, my school, even my house. He shows up in my paintings, my drawings, in all of my art projects. I can’t stop thinking about him.

He says his name is Gabriel, and he doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He doesn’t know how I can see him or why he wants me in ways that should be impossible for a Celestial.

My obsession grows. I need him to hold me, kiss me—give all of himself. For every day he protects me, the consequences loom darker and taller. Soon, they’ll crash down on us.

The war is about to begin.

Now, aren’t you excited? That’s a wonderful and very interesting blurb there. I think she got me on ‘I traded my death for love’.

There’s no confirm date yet on when will it’s going to be release. Soon I hope! Nevertheless, we are so damn lucky to have something to look forward to this 2014. :))

My Book Review: Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Synopsis

I’m not your typical girl. I’ve been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness…until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn’t know that time wasn’t my ally — that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer–each moment as it came–but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it’s the end, it’s only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn’t–I wouldn’t ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

*breathe!* Okay, where do I begin?

I love this book SO much it had me weeping so hard and laughed like an idiot. The story was very touching and every lines that characters said really warms my heart. It is raw. It is beautiful.

Wes is like a living, walking sex. With his heart-stopping smile and striking good-looks..my god..

*

“One…” He held up his finger. “I’m a bit insulted that you think I’d have to break into a girl’s room to get in. Believe me. I knock, they open, I walk in. It’s as simple as that.”

*

Oh, Wes.. *sigh*… I just love everything about it. It’s beautiful. Hands down.

~Here’s some of my favorite quotes from the book~

“Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, alive or dead, young or old, my heart will always be with yours. Every beat you feel against your fingertips…” His fingers tapped against my chest, once, twice. “… is me calling out to you. It’s you returning the call. It’s us talking, communicating, bonding, sharing, Living — Kiersten, it’s us living.”

***

“I can tell you have a good heart…” I sighed, opening the door to the outside.” … because the minute I met you, I wanted to fight for it.”

***

“I’m going to make it so hard for you to forget this first kiss that you don’t want anyone else kissing you ever again. When the guy you fall in love with kisses you — it better put this kiss to shame — if it doesn’t, then he isn’t the right guy. Because I’m going to do a damn good job, and I want the guy that earns you, that takes that heart of yours and holds it in the palm of his hands… I want that guy to be able to make you feel things I’ll just be tapping into. Do you understand, Kiersten?”

***

“And then the lamb tempts the wolf.” Wes said in a low tone.

“And Wolf rises above temptation.” I sang.

“Wolf loves temptation.”

“Wolf needs to watch the movie.”

“Lamb needs to stop talking before wolf silences her with his teeth.”

Review: The Redemption of Callie and Kayden

The Redemption of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh Wow. I have no idea where I should start first. -____________________-
I’ve just finished reading the book several minutes ago and I think I just had to share my thoughts about it, so yeah, here it goes.. Okay. How about I should start first on the fact that I freaking love it so much I want to hug Jessica for creating such wonderful story that also convey great lessons in our life.

I read The Coincidence again before starting on The Redemption just so I could go back through all the emotions I felt back then, which also awaken my hatred for Caleb. I know its pathetic, but can you blame me? If I would make a list of most infuriating fictional villain character, Caleb would probably on the top five. Hehe *wink* 😀

Callie and Kayden’s past are so messed up and I just admired them when they both come out and reveal their secrets and I know that takes a lot of courage but knowing that they both have each others back no matter what happens was just so inspiring. Jessica really knows how to connect to the readers through the plot and characters. 🙂

Beautifully Damaged by L.A Fiore

Ember Walsh is a quiet, shy and gorgeous girl and she doesn’t seem to know it. Sharing an apartment with her bestfriend Lena, she often spend most of her time either at home reading or waiting tables at Clover.

Trace Montgomery is the type of love ’em and leave ’em kind of guy and known for hot badass look with different girls in his arms every night. He’s mostly closed off to people around him and doesn’t talk about his family even with his friend, Rafe.

When this two met one night at the club and Trace got to saved her from the harassment of some drunk guy, Ember instantly felt the attraction and the urge to know him better. Trace couldn’t seem to stay away from her either but his dark past and secrets that he feared will make Ember hate and leave him for good makes things difficult between them.

“From that first night at Sapphire, it’s been you, Ember — longer actually.”

…..

“I may have been a player but you’re the only woman with whom I’ve shared my bed, both sleeping

and making love in it. I never brought it home, Ember.”

What I love in this book is the the fast-paced of the events without the author actually ruining the flow of the story. There are so many scenes and lines I like in this book and the part where Trace finally revealed his secrets just broke my heart.

All in all, it’s a story about love, grief, forgiveness and acceptance.
